I can't remember too many details of The Vanishing of Katharina Linden
by Helen Grant as I finished it two months ago. Young Pia lives in a small German town with her family. Children begin to mysteriously disappear. Pia and her friend decide to investigate on their own eventually solving the crime that the adults could not. This is a good first novel from the author.
It's hard to classify this book as young adult or adult and could easily go either place. The story is dark with a bit of horror, but I didn't feel it was overly that way. The story is told from the point of view of a 10 year old.
